A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in British Columbia is a health professional regulated by College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC) under BC’s Health Professions Act.

The college regulates acupuncturists, chiropractors, massage therapists, naturopathic physicians, and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.

Each Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) sets their own schedule and treatment rates.

At present, Nicky, May, Daisuke, Jane, Caroline, and Sally charge $130 for a 60-minute session (tax included), while Brittany charges $130 for a 50-minute session (tax included).

Please refer to each therapist’s individual booking page for their current rates and real-time availability.

All RMTs at our clinic operate as independent subcontractors. They manage their own schedules, availability, and pricing. As a result, appointment times may be available outside of our general business hours, typically ranging from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, compared to clinic hours of 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
Clients are strongly encouraged to check each therapist’s online booking page to view the most accurate and up-to-date availability.

Some RMTs also offer different types of massage therapy based on their training and areas of focus. To view the full list of services provided by each therapist, please click on their portrait photo in the booking system.

Each Registered Massage Therapist offers a unique treatment approach based on their training and clinical experience. We strongly recommend trying a few different therapists to find the one that best aligns with your specific condition, comfort level, and treatment goals.

Direct billing to RCMP / Medavie Blue Cross (for Registered Massage Therapy and Acupuncture) is available with May Li, Nicky Sattabongkod, Brittany Webster, Caroline Vrba, Daisuke Haruki, and Jane Reaves.

ICBC direct billing is currently available with May Li, Jane Reaves, with additional practitioners to be added as they become approved.

If your insurance provider is not listed or direct billing is unavailable, you may use your official receipt to submit a claim for reimbursement directly to your insurer.

Questions About Direct Billing?

How Direct Billing are processed?

You give us your policy number/ID and we submit it through the web portal. The portal will give us the exact amount that your benefits plan pay; you will need to pay the remaining portion of the visit that isn’t covered, if anything.

You will pay the portion of the treatment cost that the insurance company doesn’t pay, according to the portal reply. For example, if you have coverage for 80% of your $130 visit fee, you will pay $26 (the portal will “pay” the remaining $104 to the clinic). Payment amounts depend on your individual coverage and portal response. There may also be a deductible that you have to pay before coverage begins. Check with your insurance company.

The submission portal is designed for clinics to create submissions in real time; it is not designed to check statements/limits/policies etc. It works very similar to a credit card terminal – it can collect the payment but it cannot check the card balance.

If you want to check your coverage, remaining balance, deductible or other benefits related policies, please contact your insurance provider directly.

No, Direct billing is only available for treatments performed today.

Each plan is individual to the member. Insurance companies can have many different plans. For example, we have seen Blue Cross cover as little as 10% of the treatment cost up to 100% coverage.

Bingo, You won’t have to pay anything.

You will get a receipt only for the portion that you pay. For example, if you have 100% coverage, you will not get a receipt. If you have 80% coverage, you will get a receipt for the 20% remaining balance that you pay.

*Please be aware that we cannot guarantee direct billing at every appointment due to issues with individual benefits plans, problems with the submission portal, or clinic logistic considerations.

Extended Health Care Group Benefit Plans
Many British Columbians have extended health benefits through a workplace group insurance plan. Coverage varies, often with an annual ceiling amount. Sometimes a physician’s referral is required for reimbursement of claims. Please check your plan. 

Medical Services Plan
British Columbians on premium assistance (low income) can claim part of their visit to a Registered Massage Therapist through their British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP). MSP will contribute up to $23 per visit for up to ten (10) total visits to supplementary health care providers per year. Unfortunately, we are not registered with MSP and we don’t do direct billing with MSP.

WorkSafeBC
WorkSafeBC covers injured workers for their visits to a Registered Massage Therapist. An injured worker must inform the Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) if the visit is due to a workplace injury. Not all RMTs accept injured workers’ claims as there is a process to be verified. We often refer to these claims out as the shorter but “more often” booking requirements that are difficult for our clinic to accommodate. Sorry, we don’t do direct billing wit WorkSafeBC.

ICBC
British Columbians injured in automobile accidents do have ICBC insurance. Check with your ICBC adjuster regarding registered massage therapy coverage. Check with your ICBC adjuster regarding registered massage therapy coverage. We currently have May, Jane, direct bill to ICBC. (You may also use our receipt to claim the reimbursement from your ICBC adjustor)

Veterans Affairs Canada(VAC) (previously DVA)
Canada’s Veterans are covered for treatment through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Check with your VAC adjudicator regarding registered massage therapy and Acupuncture coverage and a referral. All of our RMTs and Acupuncturist (except Sally) bill directly to VAC.

RCMP (New)
RCMP Members are covered for massage therapy treatments through an RMT in British Columbia. RCMP Health Services and RMTS work together to determine an appropriate treatment plan. Starting January 1st, 2014, RCMP members have $4800 to spend in total, per calendar year, for their supplementary health benefits including chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy and acupuncture. The $4800 does NOT include taxes. We now bill directly to RCMP/Medavie Blue Cross (For RMT Massage and Acupuncture).
